Plans, limits, and how it works, in plain terms.
Yes. With a free account you can make 3 new subtitles every 24 hours, for videos up to 60 minutes long. Without an account you can try 1 video and open subtitles 3 times.
Pro is US$4.99 a month (local prices are set by the App Store and Google Play). It has no daily limit (a fair-use cap applies), handles videos up to 180 minutes long, saves subtitles as SRT or VTT files, and makes subtitles from your own video or audio files (up to 600 minutes a month). Subscribe in the iOS or Android app — Pro is tied to your account, so it works in the Chrome extension too.
Yes. RootblySub doesn't rely on YouTube's captions. It transcribes the video's audio with speech recognition, then translates the transcript into the language you pick.
Subtitles can be translated into 15 languages: 한국어, English, 日本語, 中文(简体), 中文(繁體), Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, Русский, العربية, हिन्दी, Bahasa Indonesia, ไทย, Tiếng Việt.
In Chrome, the extension shows subtitles right on YouTube's own player. On iPhone and Android, the app's built-in player overlays subtitles on the video, and you can send a video straight from the YouTube app with Share.
Pro subscribers can download finished subtitles as SRT or VTT files — translation only, or translation together with the original — ready to import into editors like Premiere Pro or CapCut.
