Hello, welcome to this little guide on how to get the Siemens Automation Software TIA Portal or TIAA Portal or just TIAA as a lot of people actually say.

This is not an illegal way or anything like that, this is just the official way how to get the software.

First of all I'm going to show how you get the demo version which is good for 21 days so you don't have to pay anything or so.

So that's pretty neat. Because a lot of people could be asking me, where can I get that? And I don't like to answer that question all of the time.

So here we go. All you need is basically an internet connection. And your name, probably, your name would also be good.

You will have to go to a website. Sorry for that sound.

a demo version and they are actually you can run each of these for 21 days

so it's not 21 days in total it's 21 days each here's

the point that you need to consider as a registered customer you can download the trial version for Simatic Step 7 version 15 WinCC version 15

and PRC Zim version 15 and test it for 21 days. So this is really a 21 days test version.

All of these softwares.

What you also need to consider is, first of all, your operating system,

because not all operating systems are suited for the TIA portal, and different TIA versions have different operating systems they can work with.

and there is a chapter called system requirements check if your system is actually

meeting all the requirements for this so it needs some some processor and so on most important is is the operating system.

Because a lot of people have problems with the operating system and TIA portal, which I can understand.

I used Windows 8 for a long time and it's never really been supported.

So I've upgraded to Windows 10 and now I'm perfectly fine with TIA version 15.

I think TIA 13 Service Pack 2 and 14 also Service Pack 2, they also support Windows 10.

But have a look in the general description, in the requirements. That's where you get it.

So I'm actually using the home version of Windows 10. I'm good.

Once you know your system is actually capable of running the TIA portal, you have down here two options that you can download.

You can download the trial version of Step 7 Basic Professional. This is the same for both.

Trial Version Basic Professional. For Step 7, this is the programming environment itself.

And then there's the plugin for WinCC, which is Windows Control Center, which is for programming HMIs and SCADA systems and so on.

And there's the distinction. So we have once WinCC Basic, Comfort Advanced, and we have WinCC Professional.

If you don't need WinCC at all for now, don't visualize anything. It doesn't matter which one you download.

They're both the same in that sense. if you need to program a skater system so a really really big control room with 10 monitors 20 people working in there

monitors then you have to download the WinCity Professional and

you should already know what you're doing at that point if you

just want to have maybe a small HMI a touch

panel or run a little simulation of an HMI you can go with the basic version here
