Okay, you've probably been hearing a lot about AI jobs, AI rater, data annotator, content reviewer, and maybe you're wondering two things.

Can I do it? And is it worth it? And for me, the answer was yes, yes.

And today I want to show you why the answer may be yes, yes for you as well.

And on the issue of can you, let's start with a question.

A user types in a query, how do I remove wine stain from a shirt? The AI gives three responses.

A, wash the shirt. B. Blot the stain and rinse with cold water. C.

Wine stains can be difficult to remove. Which would you rate as the best response?

Hold your answer and we'll come back to it. In this video, I want to show you how I found out about this work, what it involves, and why your life experience might be more valuable than you think.

Here's another quick one. A user searches for a German Shepherd puppy. Which image deserves the highest rating?

A, B, or C? Pick your answer. We'll reveal it later.

For most of my life, AI wasn't even on the radar. But my work in accounting and business management had taught me one thing, attention to detail.

Learn to spot things that don't add up. And you learn to question things.

And I didn't realize that those same skills would eventually matter in a completely different field.

Then someone explained it to me in a way that clicked. Think of AI as a smart student.

The AI gives an answer, a human checks whether the answer is helpful, accurate, and useful.

The AI is a student and you're the teacher, and suddenly it made sense.

Now, those two challenges you answered earlier, those are simplified versions of the decisions AI evaluators make every day.

And if you formed an opinion, you're more qualified than you think. Now, here's the basic process.

Someone enters a prompt, the AI generates a response. Then a human evaluates whether that response meets the user's needs.

The more I learn, the more I realize this work isn't really about technology.

It's about reasoning, logic, and attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Companies need people who can tell when AI is being helpful or when it is confidently giving bad information.

Now you've probably experienced this in real life. Someone tells you a story and instantly you know something's off.

The facts don't fit. The timeline makes no sense. The details don't add up.

That same instinct is what AI evaluators use every day. But here's the truth.

AI can sound incredibly confident even when it's completely wrong. And here's a humorous example.

The query was, is Marlon Brando in heat? Now, we would know in heat is the movie from 1995 about Pacino, Robert De Niro.

But unfortunately, the AI did not interpret it that way.

And you can read it from this response that it was a rather hilarious response, yet it thought it was completely right and completely confident in how it responded.

Now let's look back at that first question that was posed to AI. How do we remove a wine stain from a shirt?

And the AI had responded, A, wash the shirt, B, blot the stain and rinse with cold water,

and C, wine stains can be difficult to remove. The best response was B, blot the stain and rinse with cold water.

Why? Because it directly helps the user solve the problem. If you pick B, congratulations.

You just made the same type of judgment AI raters make every day.

When I worked as an accountant, I just didn't look at the final number. I look for things that didn't look right.

And that's exactly how I approach AI responses today.

And over decades of work and life experience, I built those same instincts and you probably have as well.

Those instincts are valuable, especially when evaluating AI responses.

So if you're over 50, and don't sell yourself short, you've been auditing information your entire life.

And now you're just simply going to do it for a machine. And yes, I know what some of you are thinking. I struggle with the TV remote.

How am I supposed to work with AI? Fair question. But the good news is, many projects use tools you already know and have.

For most projects, all you need is a computer, internet access, smartphone, and attention to detail.

Look, it's not effortless and there is a learning curve and some of the guidelines, they can be more than 50 pages long. And now for that second challenge.

The query was German Shepherd puppy, and I showed you three images, A, B, and C.

And the correct answer was B, because the user searched for German Shepherd puppy, not just a dog, not just a German Shepherd.

The image that best matched that, both breed and age, deserved the highest rating.

So if you pick B, you're already thinking like an AI evaluator. evaluator.

Remember this, the skills companies need aren't coding skills, they're human skills, reasoning, judgment, attention to detail.

Now let's look at some of the jargon involved and the tech setup needed.

Okay, if you saw this job ad that said data annotation, pairwise comparison, object tagging, you might think that's not for me.

You likely already have the skills to do it. If you're over 50 or you're just new to AI Raider or data annotation work, sometimes the hardest part isn't the exam.

It's getting past the techno jargon and the technical setup between the words, the browser settings, the extensions, the profiles, the logins.

It can feel a bit overwhelming. So today I'm going to demystify the major techno jargon terms and I will walk you through everything you actually need step by step with zero stress.

Now I'm in my retirement and most people in my age group or those just new to this type of work, we all have the reading skills, the judgment, the life experience, but we worry that we're one click away from getting disqualified.

Think of it like a darkened room that's not so scary when you turn the light on.

the exact browser setup companies expect, what not to install, how to avoid getting flagged by automated checks, how to stay organized and confident.

This is the digital handhold I wish someone had given me when I started.

And before we start, I want you to keep one thing in mind. When I started doing AI rating work earlier this year, I didn't know what most of these terms meant.

I wasn't coming from a technical background, so if some of these words sound intimidating right now, that's completely normal.

Here are some essential terms. Now stay with me and feel free to save these screenshots or jot down a quick note on each to help you get familiar with them.

The first three are the getting started terms, onboarding, the orientation phase,

This is where you sign your paperwork, complete NDAs, set up your tools, and learn the rules before you start working. Dashboard.

The work desk. Your main screen where you see available tasks, your status, and your earnings. Vendor platform.

The company you work through. This is the company you apply to, such as TOLAS, Appen, Outlier, or Data Annotation.

They connect workers with AI-related projects and provide the platforms where much of the work is completed.

Next, we are doing the work terms, data annotation, digital labeling.

You tag or label examples, like images, audio, or text, so the AI learns what things are and how humans communicate.

AI rater, search evaluator, content reviewer, their quality control.

Object tagging or labeling. Naming what you see. Marking objects in an image like cars, signs, people.

So the AI learns to recognize them. Pairwise comparison. Choosing a better option.

You're showing two AI answers side by side and pick which one is clearer, safer,

and more helpful. Guidelines. This is the rule books. The instructions you must follow to pass exams and do tests correctly.

Okay, two other terms you may be familiar with, but just to be sure, they are browser extension, the browser accessory, a small add-on that changes or adds features to your browser, like Chrome.

Examples include ad blocker, coupon finder, grammar checkers, and VPN tools.

And VPN, the virtual private network, the privacy tool. A VPN encrypts your internet traffic and routes it through another server.

Many AI projects prohibit VPN use because they need to verify your real location.

I know that's a fair amount of technical jargon at once and after a while the terms will become more easily understood in time.

Now that you know some of the jargon, let's talk about the office where you'll actually be using it, your web browser.

This is the part that most beginners never hear about. Some companies and projects use technical checks to verify that your browser environment meets their requirements.

So if they detect VPNs, ad blockers, suspicious extensions, multiple accounts mixed together, you may get flagged for review, lose access to certain tasks,

or in some cases have your account restricted. A clean Chrome profile is your secret weapon.

It keeps your work environment separate, simple, and compliant.

I'll put a link in the description. Many projects discourage unnecessary browser extensions and some projects won't let you use certain add-ons.

As a best practice, keep your work browser as clean as possible and only install extensions that are specifically required or approved.

So some common extensions that can cause problems,

Adblock or Ublock, Grammarly, Honey, VPN extensions, certain browser-based password manager extensions may conflict with project requirements.

Always follow the project's specific instructions, screenshot tools, shopping extensions, anything that modifies the page.

If you don't know what an extension does, remove it. Or even easier, set up a separate Chrome profile for your AI work.

Now on the issue of passwords and two-factor authentication, this can be a bit of concern for some.

And here are some things that may help you. Use a notebook or paper log if that feels safer.

Use Google Password Manager if you prefer digital. Keep your phone nearby for two-factor authentication.

Don't overthink it. This is normal and required. You don't need to be a tech expert. You just need to follow the steps.

Another concern with this work is hardware. Okay, let's address the do's and the don'ts.

You don't need a gaming PC, a brand new laptop, dual monitors, a fancy keyboard, a special mouse.

Now, what you do need, a reasonable modern computer that runs Chrome smoothly and reliably.

In many cases, a computer from the last several years is perfectly adequate. A stable internet connection.

A browser that works properly. A smartphone, but you don't need it for all projects. Optional but helpful.

A second monitor only if you want it. A comfortable chair. A quiet space. A mouse instead of a trackpad.

Bottom line, if you're already using a computer for email,

web browsing, online banking, or watching YouTube, there's a good chance it's capable of handling AI rating work, although some specialized projects may have additional requirements.

Now let's get back to that job posting from the beginning of the video.

Remember those phrases like data annotation, pairwise comparison, object tagging?

They don't seem quite so foreign or intimidating now, do they? That's the point. Earlier, those turns may have felt like a darkened room.

But once you turn the light on and understand what they actually mean, everything becomes much clearer.

The goal wasn't to turn you into a technical expert today. It was simply to turn the light on.

And once the light is on, those terms stop looking intimidating and start looking learnable.

Now that you have a sense of the work and the techno jargon and hardware requirements,

let's look at the five crucial steps to take that will make both your initial onboarding and performance of work much smoother.

But before you fill out a single application, there are five crucial updated steps you need to take right now and simplify the process and get ahead of the pack.

And stick around until the end for a pro tip on the secret sauce that separates the successful raters from everyone else.

Let's begin. The digital workspace. You want to take five minutes to set up a separate Gmail account.

Many companies are going to require a separate Gmail account. And you also want to keep your email separate from your personal ones.

so you don't get lost exam invites or important project alerts.

13:42

And a dedicated browser profile also keeps your work extensions and search histories completely separate from your personal life.

The financial setup. Set up or verify your accounts with both PayPal and Payoneer now.

13:55

Bank verifications can take a few days and you don't want any account issues holding up your first payment.

As an accountant, I'm telling you the worst thing you can do is wait until January to hunt down your 1099s.

Start a simple spreadsheet that track your pay and dates in real time. It makes quarterly taxes and year-end forms a breeze.

Getting the banking setup is key, but staying organized is how you keep that money coming in. And I've got a free tool to help you do that, and I'll show you it in just a minute.

The hardware checkup. Make sure your operating system and NRVirus are fully updated.

You'll be visiting a lot of different websites, and you want to be protected. It's a simple step, but it's essential for security.

And don't forget your phone. Many projects require mobile testing, so make sure your mobile operating system is updated to the latest version as well.

And once your tech is secure, you're ready to start applying. But managing all those platforms can be overwhelming.

And this is where that tool I discussed previously is going to come into play. The organizational setup.

To make good money, you're going to need to apply to a lot of different projects and go for a lot of different certifications.

And you're going to need to track all of them so you don't miss any important deadlines. You're going to need a spreadsheet to do that.

The resume. Tailor your CV to highlight detail-oriented skills and research capabilities.

Now that pro tip I promise. The secret sauce to winning at this is simple. Tenacity. So think of it like baseball.

The more times you step up to the plate, the higher your chances are at home run.

And most people give up maybe after their first couple of tests or after their first no.

But if you stay swinging, stay in the game, you'll make a thrill.

Remember, they use this as a weeding out process to separate people who are serious about this work and those who are not.

I'll show you how to build a virtual wall between your personal life and your AI work by setting up a dedicated Chrome profile and a Gmail account in under five minutes.

Now, this setup is not required by every company, but after working with multiple AI platforms, I found it's one of the easiest ways to stay organized and avoid common mistakes.

Many AI rating and data annotation vendors either require or strongly recommend using a dedicated Gmail account for work-related activities.

And using a separate Chrome profile creates a clean workspace where your personal browsing and work-related activities stay neatly separated.

All your work emails stay organized. You avoid clutter and missed deadlines.

You can switch between personal life and work life with one click.

Think of it as building a virtual wall between your personal world and your AI work world.

To create that new Chrome profile, open Chrome. Look at the top right corner. You'll see your profile icon next to the three dots.

Click it. At the bottom, select Add or Add Chrome Profile. A new window appears asking you to sign in.

Click Sign In. This is how Chrome keeps your work, bookmarks, passwords, and settings synced and backed up.

Now to create that new Gmail account, on the sign-in screen, click Create Account, choose For My Personal Use.

This keeps everything free and simple. Now create a professional sounding email dedicated to your AI work.

And important, keep your login info secure and handy. You'll be using it a lot.

Before we continue, this is the same setup I use to go from clutter to orderly.

It keeps my exam invitations, onboarding emails, and project updates organized across multiple vendors.

It takes a few minutes to set up and save a few hours of frustration.

Now Google will walk you through the remaining setup steps, including account verification and recovery options.

Just follow the prompts until the account is created. Once you're finished, your new Gmail account is ready.

After creating the account, Chrome will ask you to choose a profile name, pick a color theme, and select an avatar.

Now you have a completely separate Chrome environment. You can even have both profiles open at the same time.

Personal in one window, work in the other. Now to turn on sync.

Click your profile icon again and make sure sync is on.

This helps back up your bookmarks, settings, and passwords so they're easier to recover if you switch computers or reinstall Chrome.

Now that your profile looks right, we need to make sure it functions correctly for the vendors. Keep your work profile clean.

Some vendors restrict browser extensions, while others require specific extensions for certain projects.

And as a general rule, avoid installing unnecessary extensions on your work profile and always follow the vendor's instructions.

Why? Because extensions can interfere with tasks, tracking, or platform behavior.

Only install something if the vendor explicitly says it's allowed.

This keeps you compliant and avoids unnecessary exam or project failures.

Okay, next step, organize your Gmail for success. Inside your Gmail account, create folders or labels for each company you apply to,

Here's a pro tip. You can also create filters, so important emails automatically get labeled when they arrive.

After learning the type of work, and what is involved, and you've taken the steps to get ready, where do you apply to? Let's answer that now.

Company number one, Tullus Digital, also formerly known as Tullus International, or you could find them as Tullus International AI Data Solutions, depending on where you're doing your query from.

And they're a global titan in the search evaluation. What do they look for? Deep, local, cultural knowledge.

The frontline reality to get in. They've got a rigorous qualification exam with numerous pages in the guidelines.

But don't skim them. Study them like a final exam. And if you pass, this is one of the most stable supplemental income streams out there.

Usually they pay between $15 and $17 an hour in U.S. Company number two is Data Annotation Tech.

This is a favorite because it's fully autonomous. You can log in and work whenever you want. What do they look for? Exceptional writing and chain of thought reasoning.

And their generalist can earn maybe $20 to $30 an hour.

Now the front line reality, your entry ticket is a tough initial assessment.

Slow down, double check your grammar, because one typo could potentially disqualify you. Company number three, CrowdGen now.

Maybe you're not looking for that no check-in vibe. Maybe you want the stability of a company that's been around for decades. That's CrowdGen.

What are they looking for? Basic tech literacy. Most of it pens, new work now flows through CrowdGen, not the old portal.

Frontline reality? Expect a thorough onboarding. You can apply, get verified, then qualify for specific buckets.

It takes patience, but once you're in, the variety of projects is huge. Company number four is Oneforma.

They specialize in translation and LLM prompt evaluation. What do they look for? Strong test-taking skills.

Frontline reality? Think of Oneforma like a library.

The more certifications you pass, the more shelves of work open up. Now here's a pro tip.

Just focus on one or two certifications a week to unlock the best tasks.

Some certifications expire or need retaking if enacted for long periods. Company number five, Outlier AI.

If you want some of the highest task volumes based on project cycles we've seen this year, you need to look at this company, Outlier.

They focus heavily on RLHF, reinforcement learning from human feedback.

What do they look for? Pattern recognition and strong reasoning. Frontline reality. Outlier is fantastic when it's flowing.

Sometimes the guidelines can change midweek, but if you can adapt quickly, the work can be plentiful. Now here's the portfolio fillers.

To keep your income steady, when one platform slows down, add these two to your portfolio and don't forget that bonus extra one is coming up at the end.

Bonus number one, vocalized or well-o-data. Vocalize frequently hires search quality raters.

Now here's the catch. Unlike the others, they usually require a consistent weekly schedule, typically 10 to 20 hours.

It's less gig and more part-time job. Bonus number two, LXT, focuses on data collection and image labeling.

The frontline reality, LXT work is usually short, task-based projects.

It's the perfect gap filler for when your main platform has a quiet week.

And here's that special extra company to add to your list. They're a global platform that runs voice recording, transcription, and AI training projects.

Whether they look for clear speaking voice, ability to follow detailed recording instructions, and reliable audio quality.

You don't need a studio mic, just a quiet space and consistency.

Now the frontline reality, Bobo Audio projects come in waves. Some weeks are busy, some are quiet.

But when they open a new project, onboarding is fast and it pays solid for short focused tasks.

It's a great add-on to your portfolio if you want variety behind pure rating and annotation work.

Now, the secret to surviving as an AI raider or data annotation worker is to treat this like a portfolio.

Don't rely on just one platform. Register a multiple, take the exam seriously, and build your options so you always have a digital workspace ready to go.

And let's jump into company one. Company number one, Minerift and also Tolica.

Minerift is the biggest development on this list. Tolica is transitioning into Minerift, with the companies indicating the integration will occur during July of 2026 per the company's website.

So let's look at these two as a kind of two for one deal.

As of the recording of this video in early summer of 2026, this is what I found.

So always check the company's website for the most current information.

For mine worth at this time, they are accepting applications, but only for specific skill sets and work experience, such as claims adjuster, banking, finance.

But remember, accepting applications for any company does not directly equate to actively hiring or assigning work.

Number two, RWS. Still has an open application portal.

However, this is not the RWS many people remember from 2019.

RWS appears to be offering fewer of the traditional large-scale search rater opportunities than many people remember from years ago.

What they do still offer are linguistic tests, which is basically checking if a translation sounds natural, localization, and occasional annotation projects.

I was able to apply, so they make the list. But don't expect steady radar work here.

Also, some current projects may reference a specific state, such as Texas.

But when you begin the application process, you will find a broader list of eligible states.

While RWS is for more traditional projects, sometimes you just need something you can start today.

That's where micro-test sites like Company Number 3 come in. And stick around because company number five surprised me.

I wasn't expecting MTurk to still be accepting applications. Number three, Clickworker.

Clickworker is always open and yes, I was able to apply. This is mostly a micro task platform, not a true AI rater job.

Think of UHRS tasks, categorization, surveys, small labeling jobs.

Pay is low, but it's legitimate and beginner friendly.

If someone wants to dip their toes into online work, this is the safest place to start. Number four, Prolific.

Prolific is one of the most trusted platforms out there. I applied with no issues.

After the application process, I was advised that I was on a waiting list.

Whether you're immediately accepted can depend on participant demand and demographics.

But again, this is not AI rater work. It's academic studies, surveys, behavioral research.

The pay per hour is actually decent, but the work is sporadic. Still, it's a great supplemental platform.

Number five, Amazon Mechanical Turk, MTurk.

At the time I recorded this video, I was able to submit an application to MTurk.

But let's be real, MTurk is micro task work and the pay is usually very low.

And today I'm going to give you the exact five skill blueprint that could turn those confusing exams into open book wins.

Before we get started, here's a challenge. Call it a mini certification that looks simple, but some people get it wrong in real AI radar certifications.

The user types in Instagram. Now, which user intent is it? A. Informational. B. Navigational.

C. Transactional. D. Local search.

using a Wikipedia page that we'll use as a guideline and a simple control left search just like an open book certification.

Again, Wikipedia is not an official guideline. We're just using this as an illustrative example.

These certifications are the hardest part of getting into this AI remote generalist and raider work.

They're the gatekeepers and many people fail the certifications because they generally don't understand how the exams are designed.

I've taken a lot of these certifications and passed many of them and I'm going to show you the exact steps to take to help you succeed without violating and the NDAs or giving away anything proprietary.

Let's get into it. Everything in these exams comes down to five things.

Guidelines, open book strategy, avoid AI assistance, user intent, time management.

If you can get these five things right, you're already ahead of most of the applicants.

Now, each project usually comes with its own set of guidelines that explain how the company wants you to evaluate things like user intent, user satisfaction, page quality, and response quality.

Frequently, the guidelines will include examples to clarify the grading instructions.

And these examples are one of the most important aspects of the guideline. Now, your project's guidelines are your answer key.

Don't memorize them, index them. Download them, practice controller, command that depending on your computer system, and star the examples.

Certifications often mirror the examples.

Learn the company's labels and language so your reasoning matches theirs, which is exactly how you'll use them in the open book phase.

These exams are open book. They want you to use the guidelines. But open book doesn't mean easy.

It means the real skill is speed.

And you need to be able to search the guidelines fast, match questions to examples, make sure your logic matches what they're looking for, and move on without second guessing yourself.

So take the practice exam, then step away for 15-20 minutes before starting the real test.

Think of your brain like a filing system. If you immediately cram more information in, everything gets piled together.

But if you give your brain a little time, those ideas will get organized and become easier to retrieve when you need them.

Even a short break can improve recall and reduce panic during an exam.

The golden rule, and this one is simple. Do not use AI to help you answer certification questions.

Most platforms prohibit outside assistance during certification exams.

If you're caught using AI or violating exam rules, you could lose access to the project or the platform.

And you need these skills for the actual job, so learn them now. AI won't help you here, and neither will a robot.

You need to understand how to adhere to the guidelines. And that brings us to the next core subject, user intent.

User intent is likely the core of almost every certification. And here's how to think of user intent.

If I were typing this query, what am I looking for?

So user intent means what the user meant, what they expected, and what results would satisfy them.

And generally, they fall into categories of if it's a brand, an app, or a site only, then that would be a navigational user intent.

If it's something near me, a city or ours, that would be a local.

If it was something to buy, a price, or subscribe, that would be a transactional intent.

If it was what, how, or definition, that would be informational. And if it's mixed, choose the dominant intent.

That's basically the mindset. And remember, closely review and

consult your specific guidelines that come with that project for the actual interpretation of how they want you to understand user intent.

So remember, before you even look at the guidelines, ask yourself, if I type this, what would I want?

Then use the guidelines to confirm what you thought. Now, let's tie so many steps together.

So what is the user intent? Now, here's our Wikipedia page that we're using as a sample guidelines.

So again, it's looking into the examples, finding something similar, and using that as your basis of understanding how they want you to apply the guidelines to that question.

Now, I know sometimes that answer can be confusing when we say that Instagram is a platform like Facebook, and Facebook and Instagram are navigational intent.

A lot of times you hear navigational and you think geographical. But in radar logic, navigational has nothing to do with geography.

It's about digital navigation. The user is navigating to a specific online destination, like a website, an app, a service.

Remember that you need to follow the guidelines. And in our example, Wikipedia was the guidelines we were using for illustrative purposes.

and that classified Facebook, which is similar to Instagram, as navigational.

So that's why we followed it that way. And that's why it was labeled as navigational. Again, you're following the guidelines.

And once you start to develop that mindset and try to understand how the adherent to the guidelines,

you're going to be in far better shape to pass these certifications. That's a simplified example of how you can have the guidelines open and then do a control or command F.

they do a quick query to find some information. And

one of the things you can do to help you improve that skill is to have the guidelines open before you take the certification and maybe have an AI ask you basic questions.

And then you can use those questions as a means to go in and start querying for the answer.

And that should help develop the

And that's exactly what you would do in an open book exam. You find the example, you match the pattern, and then you apply the logic.

Time management is where a lot of people fail. And here's the three do's and two don'ts for time management.

Do estimate the time for each question before you start the exam.

Don't spend 10 minutes fighting one question when the next five may be much easier. Move on.

Okay, the secret to making good money in AI rating work or as an AI generalist is to be fast.

And to be fast, you need to be organized. The more projects and tasks you can get done in a short amount of time, the more money you're going to make.

And in this industry, when you're dealing with a lot of different companies like Tolis and OneFarma and then different projects within them, you need to be able to access information quickly.

So I'm going to show you today a four-part system that I use that allows you to get set up so that you're going to stay organized.

As soon as a notification comes in, you can react to it. You can pull up your guidelines.

You can go check the reputation of a website as quickly as possible and get everything done in seconds rather than minutes.

So I found it much easier to set up labels and then to put those emails directly into those labels you set up to keep them separate for the companies.

So to do that, you go over to labels, click the plus sign, and

we'll set up a main one called companies because I may later want to set one up for taxes and other type of work, too.

And you need to find an independent third party consensus and you need to do it fast.

So here's the exact process and search strategy I use to get that done.

Glassdoor so that's a quick way to do it you could also do let's

get the Better Business Bureau rating and you could quickly bring that up and you can see that they're re-rated so you could do that for companies as well.

Parentheses the company's name, close parentheses, followed by BBB and you'll come right into the Better Business Bureau.

But here's the trick to maintaining a high production speed. You don't need to check every review for every single task because that's going to tank your productivity.

Instead, treat these tools like a structured pipeline based on the type of website you're looking at.

If you're doing a quick check on a store that sells something

or is a consumer platform,

your best bet is just put the name in

parentheses and you can go to Trustpilot or Better Business Bureau and just get a quick assessment of that company.

And it would come right in. I could look in. Then I would get some basic information if I needed to confirm some information about the New York Times.

all right so by running your task through the structured pipeline rather than

treating it like a massive five site checklist for every single page you'll keep your quality scores exceptionally high while significantly increasing your paid tasks per hour.

a business is the exact difference between someone who's making pocket change and someone who's getting a steady stream of income from this work.

Today, I want to talk about some of other realities of actually doing this job that I've been facing.

I want to pass along to you and let you know the workarounds I've come up with to overcome some of these setbacks.

And I'm talking about those times when you're going to log in and see no task available on your dashboard. That's going to happen frequently.

Or you're going to be getting what I'll call phantom email notifications about projects being available.

Then again, you go on your dashboard and they're not there. Also some paywall issues where you're working on a piece of software and then you used up the free portion of it.

Now it's asking you to pay for it. And also projects that will sunset and end with a rather short notice in what you can do.

Again, with this type of work, you're not entering a traditional job pipeline.

You're in a pool of independent contractors and you just have to be ready for it.

56:38

So in this video, I'm going to pull back the curtain on the five exact setbacks that every frontline raider faces.

And more importantly, the exact workarounds I use to protect my time and my income.

So let's get into it. So setback number one is no task available screen. You're going to log into your dashboard.

The first thing you're fresh, you're ready to go. You got your beverage of choice and you open up your dashboard and there's no task available or no projects available for you to work on.

Now, you don't want to just sit there and keep refreshing that and wasting your time waiting and waiting for that.

57:19

And what you can do is once you then open up the dashboard, leave that window open.

57:26

And if you have a second screen, what's great is slide that over to the second screen and leave that there.

And make sure you're doing that in the instance of a fresh, dedicated Chrome profile, a separate browser profile.

And I showed on a separate video how to set that up. so

again when you check your dashboards make

sure you're doing that in the new chrome

profile that you've dedicated just for your work

that is your dedicated email as well and then if

you again if you have a second screen put it over

there leave it over there and you can periodically refresh it just so it's ready or if you do get some kind of notification then you're already in the dashboard and you can quickly jump on and check that.

And what you want to do is make sure that you're checking it periodically

because we're going to find out in another setback that we discussed that you've got to be jumping on this right away.

So, again, what I recommend is always have it either open in the background or slide it over to a second monitor

and then just periodically refresh it to check it. Don't just wait for some notification.

Now, there's one caveat I want to say. You're going to see suggestions sometimes from people about,

well, put on an extension onto that Chrome profile and it'll keep checking for you automatically.

The only problem is there are certain companies that when you're working on their radar stuff that you have to have just their extension on your Chrome profile.

They don't want any other extensions running on that. So if you're going to add extensions like that to constantly refresh your screen and check that for you,

that may contradict with what the company wants relative to having just their extension on that Chrome profile itself.

So be careful of that. I think you're better off if you don't have extensions like that that are just periodically checking it.

If you just check it yourself and keep refreshing it, again, keep it on the second screen, which is an easy way to do it,

should resolve that issue for you. Okay, the second setback called the phantom notification.

And we've all been there. We've gotten the, if you've done this type of work for a while, you get the email saying that there's tasks available.

Then you run over a lot

And check your dashboard. And again, you're back to the no task available. The cues run dry. It feels like you're chasing a ghost.

Now, the strategy here is understand how this system operates, that those emails are automated and they're sent to a thousand raters at one time.

By the time it hits your inbox, a lot of people have already grabbed it up again, because as we talked about in setback one, people are constantly refreshing and checking it right away.

So they're jumping on it before you're even maybe getting or just getting the email.

One thing you can do is watch the timing of those emails and stuff and get a sense for maybe when they put their task out and stuff so that you can be ready for it.

And again, as we talked about, you'll keep a instance of that dashboard open actively on your workstation so that you can jump on these things right away.

and one other thing during the day you're what you're

committing to your work day is do

not shut down your computer completely you don't

want to have the case where you have your phone with you you're getting

an email oh look you know there's tasks available now

you got to run over and you got to turn your computer on let it fire up log into chrome and then you know get onto the dashboard and by then you may have lost it.

So, you know, if there's situations during the workday where you're going to leave the computer,

leave everything where it's at, leave those screens opened up on your dashboard and simply just put it into sleep mode.

So that way, if you come back to the computer, you know, you'll bring it right out of hibernation and you'll be able to go right back into where you're working.

That'll at least save you some of the time of actually having to cold boot the computer and stuff could protect you on that end as well.

Again, as much as you can, you know, be on those dashboards right away so that you can get your share first before somebody else.

Setback number three, we call it the paywall pivot. And this is a frustrated one.

You get assigned to do a project, but suddenly you discover that you're exhausted the free tier of a program or worse, you pay out of pocket to upgrade the personal software to complete the task.

This really comes down to a strategic return on investment decision for you.

Whether you have to decide whether it's just a file or not to expend that, really, I guess you got to look at the guaranteed work hours you're going to get from this project.

Will the earnings be immediately to cover this cost?

This is just the decision as a business owner that you're going to have to make.

I had a situation where we were comparing two products and because I had to test some stuff, I quickly got out of the free, used up the free tier portion of it.

And at that point, I just decided to cancel the project that was not worth it to me.

So you'll have to make that decision each and every case. But

I just wanted to bring everyone aware that that's a possibility that you could be facing is that there's software out there that you may have to put an investment in if you want to continue in that project.

Okay, setback number four, the credential goes down, I'll call it.

Okay, now you've studied, You've passed the certifications and you receive a freshly minted client login credential.

You go to log into the client server and you end up with error, account not recognized. Then you're stuck in limbo.

Client servers are incredibly sensitive to old data, cookies and conflicting accounts.

So first, make sure your environment is completely pristine.

You should never mix your personal browsing with client accounts.

perform a clean logout clear the cache and

try again with the profile now if

that still doesn't work open a support ticket immediately

and let support know that you are not able to log

into that client server it's not going to

fix itself the sooner you can put the request in the sooner that they can fix it and until that's fixed then really pivot on and work to something else until that's resolved by support.

And setback five is the sudden sunset of a project. You've been steadily working on a project for weeks.

The workflow is going smooth. The income is predictable. Then boom, out of nowhere, you get an email.

There's a 48-hour notice that the project is shutting down completely. The work is dead.

This has happened to me, and it's most likely going to happen to you. So let this be a cautionary tale.

Never put all your financial legs in the basket of one platform because the work is entirely project based and every single gig has an expiration date.

So make sure you apply to a few different companies, pass their certifications and test.

So that way when one platform enters a dry spill or finishes a project, you shouldn't be starting from scratch trying to grab another certification.

You should already have them ready. And hopefully one of those will kick in. And think of this like running a food truck at a festival.

Some days there's a line around the block and there's other days where it's there's nobody there.

And the only way to stay in business is the plan for both scenarios.

So what do you do when the platforms and dashboards go completely quiet and the work is sparse?

You don't just wait, you pivot. And so when I'm doing my rating on the platforms and they go quiet, I use that time to focus on maybe some secondary income.

I work on my personal brand. I use my downtime to stack up new platform certifications.

In fact, I got, I think, 10 right now open ones waiting for another one to kick in. I redefined my workspace.

It looks like a helpful creator sharing job leads, right? But here's the catch. You aren't actually looking at a job lead.

You're looking at a marketing trap. Today, I'm pulling back the curtain on this digital phishing expedition to show you exactly how these funnels work so that you never give your data to the wrong person again.

Here's the truth. Every legitimate AI training platform is free to apply to. No middleman, no paid invite, no special access.

So why do these creators make you comment instead of sharing actual websites? Because it's a phishing expedition.

or more technically termed, they're setting up a marketing funnel designed to harvest your data. Here's how the marketing funnel works.

Step one, the hook. They post free information, but hide the info until you comment or like.

Your comment boosts their post in the algorithm. Step two, the bait.

They use groups of fake accounts that exist just to like or comment on each other's post to make them look popular.

Fake accounts that comment instantly. And when you see 10 people saying interested, it feels legitimate, so you join in.

Once you know what to look for, these marketing funnels are easy to spot, so watch for these clues or red flags. Clue number one, comment to apply.

No direct links, just gated information for algorithm points. Clue number two, the handoff.

You comment on Jane Doe, but get a DM from Global Remote Hub. Clue number three, the email gate.

These Nexix scams aren't just trying to sell you a course. They're trying to steal your identity or your money.

And these are the ones that most people don't talk about, but sadly they're happening every day. Number one, the fake recruiter scam.

Scammers will steal the names and photos of real people from companies, let's say like Tullis, Outlier, Data Annotation.

They message you saying, I can fast track your application. I can guarantee you a spot if you complete this training.

No legitimate company does this ever. Number two, the Telegram WhatsApp move.

If someone says, let's continue this on Telegram or WhatsApp, it's probably a scam.

Real companies never really recruit on these platforms. Number three, the fake assessment scam.

Some scammers send a fake AI rater exam and then say, you passed. Pay $25 for onboarding materials.

Real companies never charge for exams or onboarding. Number four, the pay for priority line.

There's no such thing as priority placement, guaranteed acceptance, guaranteed income.

Anyone selling this is lying. Number five, the fake job board scam.

Some scammers build entire fake websites that look like Outlier or OneForma and they add, pay $19 to unlock this application.

Always type the company name directly into Google and remember, you never have to pay for these type of applications.

Number six, the resume harvesting scam. Some funnels collect resumes to sell or use for identity. theft.

Never send your resume to a random DM. When I see posts like these, I want to warn people.

I get the idea that I should comment, but my comments actually boost their reach.

And some make it seem like that there's an instant onboarding, or maybe there's even infinite amount of tasks available.

However, the reality is much different as I see it. It's more like $15 to maybe $20 an hour if you're lucky.

Hire just means you're eligible. It doesn't mean you're going to be working. You're just entering a labor pool, not a job pipeline.

Remember, many times there's going to be no task available. What I wanted to show there is the reality versus the hype of those entering into the AI marketplace for remote work for generalists.

You're seeing a lot of things where it's 50, $60 an hour and they're always hiring.

And I'm just telling you from what I see, because I always want to keep this from my perspective and what I really see that that's not happening.

You got to remember that you pass the certification, but a certification is not a golden ticket to a new career.

And most times when people pass their certifications, maybe 10% are actually getting on board it and they're actually working on live projects.

The certification is simply permission to wait in line. You're joining a labor pool.

The next thing is you're all set up with the company and you're past the certifications.

Maybe you've worked on one or two projects, but many times you're going to go in your dashboard and see no task available.

Let's start with the cold hard numbers. If you watch my video about the $15 an hour reality the others work, you already know what to expect on most entry-level platforms.

So let's do the map. At the typical beginner rate of around $14 to $15 per hour, you'll need roughly 70 billable hours.

Now notice I said billable hours. Now in the beginning, you'll be working. They just won't be billable hours.
