Revive your heart with admonition

And let it die with asceticism, strengthen it with certainty, enlighten it with wisdom, and humble it with the remembrance of death

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the noblest of creation, Muhammad, and upon the pure and virtuous family

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon his family

My Lord, expand my chest, ease my task, and untie the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech. The Imam, peace be upon him, says to his son Al-Hasan

Revive your heart with admonition and let it die with asceticism, strengthen it with certainty

And enlighten it with wisdom, and humble it with the remembrance of death

In this wonderful paragraph, there are several matters that catch our attention

The first point is the Imam starting with this phrase: Revive your heart with admonition

Why did the Imam, peace be upon him, not say: O my son, take heed from admonition?

One of the issues faced by those who deal with youth

Is the issue of youth arrogance and how to deal with this arrogance

There is a culture in some countries, this culture is the culture of creating slaves

It deals with youth by breaking their will and crushing their arrogance

It is said that this must break his nose until he becomes a man

And these countries that impose military service

And compulsory military service on youth usually see the goal of this conscription

It is not education or military training

Nor strengthening the tools of combat; the main goal is to humiliate him, to subdue him, to break his arrogance

And you see those who live this experience understand what I am saying

And those who have not seen this experience can ask others

And this is from the perspective of religion and religious teachings, it is wrong

Youth arrogance should not be broken; on the contrary, we see that there are nations

These say to him: As long as he is arrogant, as long as he is reckless, let him be reckless

Let him experience this for himself, for one day his head will hit the wall and he will learn.

Between this excess and this deficiency, there is a limit, which is what? It is the admonition.

But the admonition involves holding the person responsible for the admonition.

We have previously mentioned at the beginning of our discussion about a stage where the child is a prince.

At a certain stage, the child is raised, learns, and is educated.

At one point, he is a minister, as mentioned in the narratives; the discussion is not about these three periods.

The discussion is after adolescence, around twenty years old and beyond this age stage.

Here, the preacher, the educator, and the caring father are necessary.

This holds the other party responsible for the admonition and for educating themselves.

Therefore, the Imam says to him, 'O my son, you must revive your heart with admonition.'

He does not break his pride, nor does he say you are wrong or that you do not understand.

He does not say to him, 'Go after the admonition, listen to the admonition, seek the admonition, and revive your heart with it.'

So we do not let him stray and say, 'Well, youth's recklessness will end one day'; this is wrong.

Because he may commit what is not commendable and may fall into pitfalls he cannot escape from.

Also, do not humiliate him or break his pride; here I must clarify that this point is important.

Religion is beautiful; it is a privilege, it is strength; religion does not take away your privilege.

Religion does not take away the sweetness of life; on the contrary, it opens the door to a beautiful life.

But the problem is where? The problem is that a person who does not taste it...

...cannot enjoy it. Perhaps you remember when this kiwi fruit first appeared.

This fruit, whose origin is kiwi from New Zealand, was not popular in our country.
