My Confirmation Model: The Strategy That Made Me A Full-Time Trader

A few years ago, I thought successful traders knew something I didn't.

So every night, I'd stay up till 2, 3 in the morning, watching another strategy video, buying another indicator, joining another Discord, and blowing another account.

I wasn't lazy. I wasn't unwilling to put in the work. I was just solving the wrong problem. I thought I needed a better strategy.

What I actually needed was a better process. So if I had to delete everything I know about trading and start completely over today,

this is exactly how I do it. Here's where we're going. First, I'm going to show you the three mistakes almost every beginner trader makes.

has because most beginners let that feeling decide when they trade I don't I let the market decide before I ever click buy or sell the market has to earn my trade.

I have a checklist. If every box isn't checked, I'm not taking a trade. I don't care if it looks good.

I don't care if I think I'm about to miss the move. If the market hasn't earned the trade, I wait.

That one change stopped me from trying to predict the market and forced me to start reacting to what it was actually telling me.

That's when everything changed. So let's actually name the mistakes because I guarantee at least one of these is happening to you right now.

Imagine it's Monday morning. You sit down at your desk. Before you even opened a chart, you've already decided how much money you're going to make today.

Maybe it's $200. Maybe you're trying to make back what you lost yesterday. Whatever it is, you've already attached yourself to an outcome.

Because once making money becomes the goal, following your rules slowly stops becoming the priority.

You normally wouldn't take this setup, but it's close enough. You normally would have accepted the stop loss, but I'll just give it a little more room.

Notice what's happening. The market didn't change. Your rules did. The goal isn't making money today.

The goal is executing your process day in and day out. Because here's the crazy thing.

Consistently profitable traders aren't thinking about today's P&L while they're trading. They're thinking, did I wait?

Did I follow my rules? Did I manage my risks? Did I execute my process?

If you can consistently execute the process, the money will eventually follow. Okay, let's say you fix that.

You're no longer chasing money. You're following your process. Great. You can still blow your account. And that's because of mistake number two.

This one surprised me. When I started, I honestly believed more screen time meant faster progress.

So that's exactly what I did. Market open, lunch, afternoon, I'd be in a meeting, but most of my attention was focused on the charts.

Before I knew it, I'd spent seven or eight hours staring at candles. And here's what I eventually realized.

My best decisions almost always happened early. My worst decisions happened later.

Not because the market changed, because I changed. Picture this.

Clean morning, maybe one good trade, but instead of walking away, you keep watching the charts, just looking for one more.

An hour passes, nothing. Now you're bored. And boredom is dangerous when there's a buy button sitting in front of you.

Suddenly, that setup that look terrible at 945 somehow looks good at 130.

Not because it's better, because you've been sitting there for four hours looking for something to do.

That's why I only trade for a max of 90 minutes every morning. Not because there aren't opportunities later. There absolutely are.

But I've learned something about myself. My discipline has a shelf life.

The longer I sit, the easier it becomes to justify taking trades I would have ignored earlier. I don't need to be a part of every move.

I only need a small piece of the pie to be a consistently profitable trader. You've stopped chasing money. You're not sitting in front of the charts all day anymore.

Awesome. But there's still one mistake that keeps more beginners stuck than almost anything else.

And most people don't even realize they're doing it. Have you ever taken a trade because one thing looked good?

Price tapped the trend line where you saw a big bullish candle or somebody in Discord said, this looks good. So you clicked buy. We've all done it.

Our brains love shortcuts. Imagine you were told to watch the first 10 minutes of the matrix and you had to give a presentation on how it ended.

There is no way you are going to summarize the red pill, the blue pill. What is the matrix of it all? It is wildly complicated and you are uninformed.

Trading works the same way. One candle isn't the story. One trend line isn't the story. They're just scenes.

The market tells a story every single day. Every sweep, every pullback, every confirmation is another scene.
