Jeju City Tour - Jeju Island

Hey guys! Welcome back! You can probably see by my forehead it is pretty hot today.

I'm finally doing a video on Jeju City, kind of like a city guide.

So if you're visiting Jeju Island for the first time, hopefully a lot of the things in this video will help you out.

Jeju City is split into two parts. There's Gu Jeju and Shin Jeju. Gu means old, Shin means new.

I have waited long enough to do this video. Let's dive into Jeju City.

I'm now on one of the main roads here in the Yongdong district here in Shinjeju.

I love this part of the city because it really reminds me of California.

I'm from San Diego, California, so all the palm trees along this road and the way that it's designed really reminds me of the west coast and my hometown of San Diego.

Right now guys, I'm in the Baonjin area of Shinjeju.

This is like the it area as far as restaurants and drinking and partying and up.

There's lots of Korean restaurants here, but there's also a lot of Chinese restaurants here as well.

Because of all the Chinese tourists that come and visit Jeju, you'll

also find a lot of Chinese restaurants among a lot of local Korean restaurants and as you guys can see it is pretty much empty and that is because it is 11 a.m.

in the morning give it probably about five hours by 3 p.m.

it'll start to get crowded by nightfall this place

will be packed so again if you're in this area

of Shinjaiju and you want to explore and have a good time

come here gotta love Korea guys this is is

the fourth Innisfree I have seen within a

block and a half here down the road, which is a little ridiculous but it's pretty cool to know that I can get a lot of the same face products and more on the same block.

There are three major bus stops located in Shin, Jeju, and well, these are the three I think are the main ones here in Shin.

The first one is located in front of E-Mart. This one you can catch the 92, the 20, the 502.

A lot of these buses will take you to Gujeju, Gujeju City.

They will also bring you back from the other side of the island, so Sogyupo or on the other side of Halasan.

Behind me over here guys is I would say the main bus stop here in Shinjeju city.

This bus stop you can catch buses to Gugjeju, you can catch a lot of buses to the Sogipo side.

So when I go to Sogipo I usually catch the 782 or 781 here that'll take me over to the other side of the island.

This is a really central bus stop. It's right in front of the Hala hospital.

This one is in front of the Shilla Hotel in the Yongdong district.

You can You can catch a lot of buses here like the 502 and the 20 that will take you to Gu Jeju City and as far out as to Hamdok Beach.

A lot of times when I go to Hamdok Beach and towards that part of the island, I will catch a bus here.

Check out this new three-story Daiso here in Shin Jeju.

A three-story Daiso from someone who lives

in Seoul or Busan might not seem like a big deal, but here on Jeju Island in Jeju City, a new Daiso that is three stories is a big The road behind me guys is called Nolhyeong.

It's a major road here in Shinjaju City. You'll find Latte Mart and E-Mart on it.

And we're really lucky here in Shinjaju because the E-Mart and the Latte Mart are within two blocks of each other.

Not even two blocks, like a block and a half. So you can go to Latte Mart and if you can't find what you're looking for, you can go over to E-Mart.

E-Mart. Colossan is right up there. You can't see it right now because it's a bit cloudy.

Over here is the Latte Cinema, so that is the main movie theater.

I've gone there many times throughout my two years here in Jeju or living in Jeju City. And up here you'll see like a big screen.

They'll share like local things that are going on and just advertisements.

But this is the big intersection here in Shinjeju City. There are two Mexican restaurants here in Shinjeju.

The first one is over here at Macho Grill. Very good. I love their burritos. They have really good burritos here.

Up the road from e-mart, there's this whole new district being built and there are a lot of good international restaurants.

There's the Bangkok Express. There's another traditional Thai restaurant, which I actually prefer over Bangkok Express.

There's a good Chinese restaurant. They have some good dim sum. And then the other Mexican restaurant over here is called Zapata's.

I'm more of a macho grill guys. My friends like Juliet, she is a Zapata's person and I'm more of a macho grill person, but they're both really good.

So if you're looking for other food other than Korean food, you can find these good restaurants over here, but there's also a lot of good, some gyupsal places nearby as well.
