Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings. Praise be to God who has made religion ranks and degrees and has established principles and essentials for knowledge of it.

And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah truly, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger sincerely.

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.

O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.

As for what follows, a group of scholars narrated to me, and this was the first hadith I heard from them.

In the chain of transmission to Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah from 'Umar ibn Dinar from Abu Qabus, the freedman of Abdullah ibn 'Umar, from Abdullah ibn 'Umar al-A'sar, may Allah be pleased with them.

From the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, that he said: The merciful are shown mercy by the Merciful.

Have mercy on those on earth, and you will be shown mercy by those in the heavens.

And one of the most important mercies is the mercy of teachers towards students in teaching them the rulings of religion and elevating them in the ranks of certainty.

And among the ways of their mercy is to inform them of the essentials of knowledge by reading the principles of texts.

And clarifying their overall objectives and meanings.

This opens the way for beginners in their learning, and the intermediates find in it reminders.

And it enlightens those who have completed the study of the issues of knowledge.

This is the explanation of the seventh book from the program of essentials of knowledge in the twelfth year.

Two hundred and forty-two and four hundred and one thousand, and it is the book of the four principles.

For the Imam of the reformist call in the Arabian Peninsula in the twelfth century.

Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab ibn Sulayman al-Tamimi.

May Allah have mercy on him, who passed away in the year six hundred and two thousand.

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and companions altogether. O Allah, forgive our Sheikh, his parents, his teachers, and all the Muslims.

And your chain of transmission to Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, may Allah have mercy on him, said in his work, the Four Principles.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and with Him we seek help. I ask Allah, the Generous, Lord of the Mighty Throne, to take care of you in this world and the Hereafter.

And to make you blessed wherever you are, and to make you among those who, when given, are thankful, and when tested, are patient, and when they sin, they seek forgiveness. For these three are the hallmark of happiness.

The author, may Allah have mercy on him, began his message with the Basmala, limiting himself to it.

Following the father in the prophetic tradition in his correspondences and letters, peace be upon him, to the rulers.

And the classifications proceed in their course, then he prayed for those who read it with three comprehensive supplications.

The first is that God takes care of him in this world and the Hereafter.

So he becomes God's ally, and the ally is one of God's beautiful names.

And it means the one who manages His creation with their affairs.

The one who manages His creation with their affairs, especially the believers, in what benefits them in this world and the Hereafter.

The second is that He makes him blessed wherever he is.

That is, a cause for the abundance and continuity of goodness.

And the third is that He makes him one of those who, when given, is grateful; when tested, is patient; and when he sins, seeks forgiveness.

The author promised them the title of happiness, and the title of something indicates what it refers to.

And from it, the title of the book and the home is a name for what they indicate.

And happiness is the state suitable for the servant.

It is the state suitable for the servant.

And the servant is turned between three states.

And the servant is turned between three states: a blessing that is present.

And a calamity that is decisive and an evil that occurs.

And every state is related to a legal matter.

What is commanded when a blessing occurs is to be grateful for it, and what is commanded when a calamity occurs is to be patient with it.
