In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, and his companions. To proceed:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله وعلى آله وصحبه ومن ولاه أما بعد

This is the third session of the explanation of the three fundamental principles.

فهذا هو المجلس الثالث من مجالس شرح رسالة الأصول الثلاثة

And, God willing, tonight we will conclude this message.

وإن شاء الله تعالى في هذه الليلة سنختم هذه الرسالة

We ask Allah, the Exalted, to make what we have said in it beneficial, blessed, and a proof for us, not against us.

نسأل الله سبحانه وتعالى أن يجعل ما قلناه فيها نافعا مباركا حجة لنا لا علينا

Yes, let’s begin. In the name of Allah, all praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah.

نعم فضلش بسم الله والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله

O Allah, forgive us, our Sheikh, and the believing men and women, and the Muslims and Muslim women, the living and the dead.

اللهم اغفر لنا ولشيخنا وللمؤمنات والمؤمنات والمسلمين والمسلمات الأحياء منهم والأموات

The author, may Allah have mercy on him, said: The types of worship that Allah has commanded, such as Islam, faith, and excellence.

قال المصنف رحمه الله تعالى وأنواع العبادة التي أمر الله بها مثل الإسلام والإيمان والإحسان

Among them are supplication, fear, hope, reliance, desire, dread, humility, and reverence.

ومنه الدعاء والخوف والرجاء والتوكل والرغبة والرهبة والخشوع والخشية

And repentance, seeking help, seeking refuge, calling for assistance, slaughtering, vows, and other types of worship that Allah has commanded, all for Allah.

والإنابة والاستعانة والاستعاذة والاستغاثة والذبح والنذر وغير ذلك من أنواع العبادة التي أمر الله بها كلها لله

The evidence is His saying: 'And the mosques are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone.' Whoever dedicates anything to other than Allah is a polytheist and disbeliever.

والدليل قوله تعالى وأن المساجد لله فلا تدعو مع الله أحدا فمن صرف منها شيئا لغير الله فهو مشرك كافر

The evidence is His saying: 'And whoever invokes with Allah another deity for which he has no proof, then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not be successful.'

والدليل قوله تعالى ومن يدعو مع الله إلها آخر لا برهان له به فإنما حسابه عند ربه إنه لا يفتح الكافرون

And in the hadith, supplication is the essence of worship. And His saying: 'And your Lord says, Call upon Me; I will respond to you. Indeed, those who are too proud to worship Me will enter Hell, humbled.'

وفي الحديث الدعاء مخ العبادة ودير القوله تعالى وقال ربكم ادعوني أستجب لكم إن الذين يستكبرون عن عبادته سيدخلون جهنم داخرين

And concerning fear, His saying: 'Indeed, that is only Satan who frightens his allies. So do not fear them, but fear Me, if you are believers.'

ودير الخوف قوله تعالى إنما ذلكم الشيطان يخوف أولياءه فلا تخافوهم وخافون إن كنتم مؤمنين

And concerning hope, His saying: 'So whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him do righteous work and not associate anyone in the worship of his Lord.'

ودير الرجاء قوله تعالى فمن كان يرجو لقاء ربه فليعمل عملا صالحا ولا يشرك بعبادة ربه أحدا

And concerning reliance, His saying: 'And upon Allah, rely if you are believers.'

ودير التوكل قوله تعالى وعلى الله فتوكلوا إن كنتم مؤمنين

And His saying: 'And whoever relies upon Allah, then He is sufficient for him.'

وقوله تعالى ومن يتوكل على الله فهو حسبه

And concerning desire, dread, and humility, His saying: 'Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and call upon Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.'

ودير الرغبة والرهبة والخشوع قوله تعالى إنهم كانوا يسارعون في الخيرات wayدعون لنا رغبا ورهبا وكانوا لنا خاشعين

And concerning reverence, His saying: 'So do not fear them, but fear Me.' And concerning repentance, His saying: 'And turn to your Lord and submit to Him.'

ودير الخشة قوله تعالى فلا تخشوهم وخشوني ودير الإنابة قوله تعالى وأنيبوا إلى ربكم وأسلموا له

And concerning seeking help, His saying: 'You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.'

ودير الاستعانة قوله تعالى إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين

And in the hadith: 'If you seek help, seek help from Allah.' And concerning seeking help, His saying: 'Say, I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind.'

وفي الحديث إذا استعنت فاستعن بالله ودير الاستعانة قوله تعالى قل أعوذ برب الناس

And concerning seeking assistance, His saying: 'When you called upon your Lord, He responded to you.'

ودير الاستغاثة قوله تعالى إذ تستغيثون ربكم فاستجاب لكم

And concerning slaughter, His saying: 'Say, Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. He has no partner.'

ودير الذبح قوله تعالى قل إن صلاتي ونسكي ومحيلي وماتي لله رب العالمين لا شريك له

And from the Sunnah is His saying, peace be upon him: 'May Allah curse the one who slaughters for other than Allah.' And concerning vows, His saying: 'They fulfill their vows and fear a day whose evil will be widespread.'

ومن السنة قولهم صلى الله عليه وسلم لعن الله من ذبح لغير الله وذيب النذر قوله تعالى يوفون بالنذر ويخافون يوما كان شطه مستطيرا

And the types of worship that Allah has commanded, such as Islam, faith, and excellence.

وأنواع العبادة التي أمر الله بها مثل الإسلام والإيمان والإحسان

In the previous session, we discussed the three fundamental principles that a person is asked about in their grave.

سبق معنا في المجلس السابق بيان الأصول الثلاثة التي يسأل عنها الإنسان في قبره

The first principle is knowing the servant's Lord.

وهي الأصل الأول معرفة العبد ربه

When asked, 'Who is your Lord?' say, 'My Lord is Allah, who raised me and the Lord of all the worlds by His blessings until He said, and He is my deity.'

فإذا قيل من ربك فقل ربي الله الذي رباني ورب جميع العالمين بنعمه إلى أن قال وهو معبودي

This indicates that the Lord is the one who is worshipped, meaning He is the one deserving of worship.

فبين أن الرب هو المعبود أي هو الذي يستحق العبادة
