And when I told her I was Egyptian, I found an unexpected response. She enthusiastically said 'Youssef' in a very exciting way, so I asked her what she meant. She opened the conversation and told me that when they want to say that an Egyptian man is handsome, they say 'Youssef'.

Thank you, my girl, for your precious trust, and at that moment, I realized how much Iranians were affected by the series 'Youssef the Prophet'.

To the extent that other people stopped me, and as soon as they heard the name Egypt, they said 'Akhenaten and Zuleikha' and started counting the names of the actors in the series, assuming they were Egyptians.

The truth is, I was amazed at how proud they were of Egypt while they were talking, they greatly revered it. Welcome to our Egyptian brothers, welcome to you.

To the extent that some of them got me into debates and discussions about whether Egypt is Arab or not, and I had to explain to them that Egypt is a Pharaonic country, but this does not contradict it being an Arab country.

And we Egyptians say that Egypt is the mother of Arabs, but with every word they spoke about Egypt.

I could see in their eyes how proud they were of the Egyptian civilization to the extent that they were eager to discuss any topics with me. Some of them made me record a video, saying it was for memory.

Because they were proud to have met an Egyptian, I would say I am Egyptian, and they would say Benzema, Mohamed Salah, what about Mohamed Salah? The language was a bit difficult for me in communication, right? Honestly, it was not a problem.

I was able to reach them through using Google Translate, and the young people in their twenties had decent English skills.

The surprise for me was that I found people speaking Arabic very well to the extent that I couldn't believe they were Iranians.
